This is definitely super sticky - I've never seen a base this sticky before so this part is absolutely spot on. I use it on my boat to hold a 7 inch Android tablet that I use for GPS and mapping. It sticks to the glass fiber like glue. Overall I like the mount, it's a pretty good design, the button at the base is notched You install it, it stays in. The holder is spring loaded and you simply insert the item and pull it down stretching the spring until it is fully inserted then it retracts and holds tight. It turns sideways (I have a Samsung Tab 2 7.0), but anything larger than 7 inches might not fit. The arm is strong enough, but I have to lower it to touch the boat's dashboard to keep it from jumping or vibrating. However, my smartphone is very stable in all positions. The result is a great smartphone holder at a good price. Not strong enough for a mini tablet when used with a moving vehicle m.
