What Hole Saws I Needed

I ordered this hole saw to cut a round hole in ceramic tile to fit over a drain core. Worked great. The tile was tessellated with a mesh backing and I was afraid the saw would rip the small tiles out of the mesh while trying to cut a hole in it. What I did to get around this problem was take two pieces of 3/4" plywood, slightly larger than a 12" x 12" tile. I used a hole saw designed for wood to cut a 5" Cut a hole in the middle of one of the pieces then I clamped the tile to be cut between the two pieces of wood so that the hole is in the top piece of wood with the hole cut into it was centered on the surface to be cut I attached two pieces of wood with screws and thereby securing the tile between them. With a spray bottle full of water ready, I began cutting the tiles with this 4.5" diamond hole saw. This method allowed me to get the perfect 4.5" diameter hole right there to cut where I wanted it There are probably other ways to accomplish such a task but this method worked quite well for me and didn't take too long I would recommend this hole saw especially if you b consider that the 4.5 inch hole saws available at major stores are MUCH closer to $100. This item, even with overnight delivery, cost half what I would have paid locally. The durability of this item as it was ordered for a specific purpose and therefore I only had the opportunity to use it. I hazard a guess that if used properly if kept wet during use it should last a few times.
