UPDATE 1.5 years: So it's now December 2018, I've had my latest set of 8 for over a year and my previously purchased set for almost 4 years. Of these 8 latest bought 3 of them failed. I will say that two of those failures were my own fault. I used one of these in the back of my truck almost every day for months in the rain. It's practically rusted. If you use them outside, better take them to the garage when you're done or throw them behind the seat in your truck. Don't leave them outside, they don't like to sit outside for long. And the second one I overloaded when I used one of them as a tow strap to tow my lawn tractor. I knew it was too much weight but it was an emergency. The 3rd failure was a product defect that just wouldn't go away one day. I really like these and they're only about $10 each. For the price you can't expect too much. Try to take care of them, they will probably serve you as well as they have me. and they worked great. They are used in an enclosed trailer so they are not exposed to the weather. One of these 10 is no longer retracted to the stop. However, I liked them so much that I ordered 8 more and hope they all break in completely.
