Boom snickety belt yo!

I bought this because I was tired of figuring out what to do with all that extra strap. Kayaked 1200 miles on the roof of my 4x4. Just great! The straps are tight and don't dangle in the wind! Some reviews say they loosen or don't tighten properly, but I think that's operator error. You don't press down on the ratchet when it's done and taut like you would with other harnesses. You tighten them and leave where the final click of the ratchet will be. If you lower the ratchet all the way, the…

These are the best mounts on the market.

I've still had the 6ft version of these straps for over 10 years and they still work like new. This 10ft version is made the same way except they are longer. They are perfect for all your tying needs and they pack away rather than having a two piece tie that you always have to fiddle with to store or adjust properly to start tying. You will never buy old style two piece slings after trying some of them with button release and spring loaded webbing. This is the only way for me. The 6ft version…

AMAZING retractable mounts but tension issues due to design

I bought a wave runner and trailer with this type of mount. So impressed that I wanted the same style on other items as my canoes. During the drive to BWCA (450 miles) they kept getting lost. After the trip, the design was examined closely. Unlike the ones in my Waverunner trailer, they're long. So when they automatically retract, the nylon webbing isn't as taut. It gets tight when cranked, but the inside is still not tight enough so it loosens up with time and bouncing around. Finally after 5…

Spring quality in canvas and mounts

I bought 10 of these in Feb 2017, we had 2 8 belt UTVs and a 2 belt tank. We got caught in an unexpected downpour that was pretty heavy and the harnesses got wet. As of 7/3/2020 - 9 of them are not retracting because the springs are rusted, broken and out of order. This renders them useless and I had to throw them all away. If they used a stainless steel spring these straps would be great but as there is no way to protect them from rain when on an open trailer they fail due to the springs…

First time great. But the honeymoon is over.

I bought the starter kit and was so impressed I then bought a few more to convert my entire 4 quad to flat bed hitch solution. I really liked them initially as they didn't leave any excess strap material dangling and they were very easy to stow away without any clutter. They then began to fail systematically after about 2 months. I had three different belts that just snapped and the straps broke. 2 of them won't retract or get stuck in a locked position and refuse to let go. Keep in mind I tow…

1 out of 10 was a dead end. Otherwise great product!

UPDATE 1.5 years: So it's now December 2018, I've had my latest set of 8 for over a year and my previously purchased set for almost 4 years. Of these 8 latest bought 3 of them failed. I will say that two of those failures were my own fault. I used one of these in the back of my truck almost every day for months in the rain. It's practically rusted. If you use them outside, better take them to the garage when you're done or throw them behind the seat in your truck. Don't leave them outside, they

Incredibly handy for everyday tasks

They can all be designed for heavy items and outdoor use, I use these to secure items in my hatchback and they are fantastic. Any car with o-rings inside can use them to secure items to keep them from moving along the way, from small furniture to boxes, Home Depot merchandise, folding chairs, and major Costco stores. Basically, every time you're done, these straps keep my cargo seats from bouncing, sliding, and breaking while I'm driving. When I moved to a new apartment I used it dozens of…

These tensioners for tarpaulins and drawstrings

I had old retractable ratchet straps that I liked and they still did their job but the retractors didn't work properly so I decided to replace them with these. I used these straps to secure a small 350lb 250cc motorcycle to a ramp in the back of my RV. I rode down the road for about 15 minutes and noticed in the rear chamber that the bike was moving a little so I pulled over and indeed the straps loosened a little. While I didn't have these issues with my previous straps, I figured that maybe…

Easy to use but easily get stuck!

I bought several of these to mount my 215 lb motorcycle to a hitch mount bike rack. However, if you overtighten (which is often necessary to keep your load from swinging) the trigger mechanism will stop working! I pressed the red button as hard as I could with two thumbs, but didn't let go. I literally had to use pliers just to get the strap off and basically ruined the trigger with any future use. I have 6 of these, 3 no longer work. I would say I used them a total of 10 times before this…
