Review on Brita 636178 FBA_35034 Dispenser Ultramax by Beth Dellman

Before I get into the negative reviews of the product, I want to say that Brita's customer service has been amazing - very responsive, genuine and I didn't have to jump through hoops to get anything Getting some sort of refund is what keeps me a customer with that alone - but not with this poorly constructed 18-cup dispenser. I never looked for this product myself - it came with the apartment we rented. After a long flight and thirst, I found an empty dispenser in the fridge and had to refill it. However, the lid was not tightly closed and the container was not comfortable to hold, and it slipped out of my hands onto the floor and broke. The next day I told the residents of the apartment and they asked me to find a replacement locally, which I managed to do. Pulled out a new block. Follow the instructions for rinsing before use but couldn't remove the top white part for an easy rinse. I also couldn't figure out how to get the filter to fit exactly like the previous dispenser. After playing around with the product at the sink, I accidentally (and lightly) bumped the faucet on the sink divider and it cracked! Pooh. I ended up buying a second one here at Revain and having it shipped to the condo. I refused to touch it and just wanted the staff to know that I am responsible for replacing the original that I broke. After calling Brita and reading other reviews online, it turned out that my donor problems weren't unique - others had the same or similar problems, which made me feel a lot better. I regretted not returning the second Brita dispenser to the store (which Brita would have said I should have done). After two purchases I lost about $70. But Brita was great and will send me a refund on one of the units which I really appreciated. I love the Brita pitchers but this large dispenser needs an overhaul to make it more comfortable and durable. Until Brita does, I recommend avoiding this particular product.
