Review on Fit System 62093 94G Chevrolet Replacement by Jerry Forehand

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great fit and finish but poor performance.

I installed these mirrors to cover blind spots, to see behind a truck when reversing with a small trailer, and to have additional features my mirrors didn't have such as: B. a heater. The results have been mixed, so the pros first; Good fit and finish. These mirrors fit perfectly and look great, and at 10/10 (ten feet or ten miles per hour) you can't tell they're not OEM. Wide enough, as trailer mirrors should be, so you can see a little behind the bed. This really helps when using small boat trailers with no boats on them. The heater and turn signal functions work, good safety and comfort features that my OEM mirrors didn't have. Installation was easy, 30 minutes for the first mirror and 15 minutes for the second mirror. I recommend having some of those plastic panel removal tools that I have and it makes it a lot easier to remove the door panels without damaging them. While similar in general appearance, upon closer inspection they do not have the same quality of fit and finish compared to the OEM kit and are mechanically inferior. The electric adjustment is jerky but sufficient, and cables are visible behind the mirror. I've never seen either of these on a Chevy with the stock towing mirrors I've driven. Vibrations above 35 mph. Vibrations in the mirrors are noticeable above 35 mph and are significant at highway speeds. Again significantly worse than the Chevy with OEM towing mirrors I've driven which have virtually no vibration. The vibration isn't in the mirror body, it's in the mirror itself, which may indicate a weak glass mounting system or a poor quality controller (see the comment on jerking during adjustment). Putting a piece of styrofoam between an edge of the mirror and the body eliminates almost all vibration, but that's bullshit. Flat mirror on the passenger side. The passenger side mirror is completely flat resulting in a very narrow field of vision on that side and generally a wider blind spot on the passenger side. For this reason, OEM mirrors are slightly convex on the aisle side. Overall decent though considering they cost less than half the cost of OEM mirrors.
