The TD-H5 is an affordable GMRS HT Walkie Talkie!

Let me start by saying that this is a great deal. Two radios, four batteries, two speakers/mics, and an $80 programming cable are awesome. Everything looks and feels high quality. The radio and microphones are perfectly weighted. The buttons make a sure click and the power/volume knob is firm. Another positive feature is the dual-wall chargers and four USB-C charging cables, which allow you to charge all 4 batteries at the same time via a regular USB port. Interconnects. This means you can use a wall charger, power bank, laptop, desktop or any source with a USB port. The programming cable and software worked flawlessly, although programming via the radio is not difficult. 24 user defined channels allow you to program repeater frequencies with different CTCSS tones. So far I've only programmed a few ham radio frequencies for reception only, but they work fine. In terms of range, they're far better than any bubble pack radios I've tried. My wife sat on the back porch while I drove away. The simplex link was excellent for about 3.5 miles where it just started to wobble. I then stopped the car and got out when the connection was crystal clear again. By this time my wife was back home in the aluminum Faraday cage and I was expecting to lose her. I was very surprised that I still have pretty good communication. Well, to be fair, we live in a flat area in south-central Ohio, but again, this beats any bubble pack radio I've tried. I can meet a few local repeaters, some are 7-10 miles away and others are 40 miles away. Just to let you know the 5MHz offset and + direction are radio coded so you don't have to worry about that. You must program a CTCSS or DCS passcode to access the extender. The only drawback I see is that there are only two belt clips. That wouldn't be a problem apart from the fact that the belt clips attach to the batteries and there are only 4 batteries. Again these are great radios and the package makes them AMAZING. Come on try it. I think you will like them.
