Review on AMP Research 75312-01A BedStep Retractable Bumper Step for Ford F-150 (2015-2019) - Black, Large: Enhance Truck Bed Accessibility by Adam French

First of all I cannot understand why there are pictures showing this item mounted on the cab side when it is a bumper step! Confusing! Not sure if other reviewers got what I didn't, but it was a royal pain in what you know to just piece it together. The flexing of the brackets created tolerances that didn't allow the bolt holes to align properly, causing us to rethread threads that never matched, resulting in cross-threaded bolts. I was about to return this unit. Obviously, their manufacturing quality control is only as good as the instructions that come with them. Oh, by the way, did I mention the instructions that come with them suck! THE ONLY WAY TO INSTALL IS WATCH THE VIDEO in the list to keep things simple. HA!Other issues you will encounter that ARE NOT MENTIONED in the list to know about BEFORE you buy. The unit can only be installed on the DRIVER SIDE due to the patented shape of the bumper bracket AND this unit appears to be designed for mechanic installation as I seriously doubt the average DIYer would have a 21mm DEEP WALL socket in their bag tricks will have. ! It would be nice to be mentioned in the list. If I knew beforehand that it was necessary for installation, I could order it at the same time so I could install the unit upon arrival. ;-(
