Really great design with a few complexities.

Just finished installing it on my 2019 F-150 XLT. As already mentioned, there is no quality control. The two-piece bracket doesn't fit well and I had to drill it out a bit to get the screws to fit properly. The threading is also poor and you have to be very careful not to over tighten the screws. The holes to attach the bracket to the bumper were correct and I was happy with that. I just helped my son-in-law install one of these steps on his F-350 Super Duty and his bracket was one piece…

Why didn't I do this earlier?

Very glad I pulled the trigger and bought this for my 2019 F-150. I've been bidding on the price for the last 6 months that I've had my truck, but I'm finally tired of crawling into bed. It's worth it. A quick kick and I can climb straight onto a stable step (and I don't have to jump off when I'm done). Another quick swipe slides it back in and it stays securely in place until I need it again. Installation took about an hour, but part of that time was finding a deep nest that would fit through…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Requires power socket

I bought this for my F-150 because the rear bumper is too high to jump on. Although my truck came with "old steps" as original equipment, I really didn't want to drop the tailgate every time I had to go to bed, so the BedStep fitted the bill for easy access. very simple, but read the instructions carefully before installing. For the assembly I needed 3 sockets (13mm, 15mm and 21mm) as well as two torque wrenches each (3/8" and 1/2") and extensions. The torque required is 129 ft-lb for the 21mm…

An essential item for every pickup truck!

I still find it absolutely ridiculous that an entry step doesn't come standard on our trucks. I liken this to having to pay extra to open the doors! The bed is what the truck is built around and we don't have to put anything in it. Anyway, I've had these types of running boards since they first came out on 3 different trucks (too bad my 14 doesn't match my 18). Two things, if you're worried it will spoil the look of your truck, don't do it. you don't even notice. Second, you need to hold on to…

INCLUDED INSTRUCTIONS AT NO COSTS!

First of all I cannot understand why there are pictures showing this item mounted on the cab side when it is a bumper step! Confusing! Not sure if other reviewers got what I didn't, but it was a royal pain in what you know to just piece it together. The flexing of the brackets created tolerances that didn't allow the bolt holes to align properly, causing us to rethread threads that never matched, resulting in cross-threaded bolts. I was about to return this unit. Obviously, their manufacturing…

Installation is not easy.

Let me tell you that I am not a mechanic and this is not required. This requires an inventory of mechanical tools. Torque wrenches, 13, 15 and 21 sockets, matching ratchets and a hex wrench that I forgot the size of. There is nothing wrong with the tools required as you should expect to need different sizes and types of tools. The problem lies in an incomprehensible manual, since not only pictures are written there, which should at least be larger. Let me clarify, although there were no…

I love this step! for external accessories

Durability: I'm on my 300lb limit and feel very confident at this point thanks to the visual solidity of the construction and some testing. Ease of use (not on Revain's star list for some): one of the reasons I love it. Two or three exercises per minute and it's very natural and easy. This was one of my concerns for several reasons. 1) I wasn't sure how stiff the spring would be to insert and lift. Having used it I would say they have achieved this design - easy to deploy, easy to store but…
