Wanted to hook up laptop to spare TV in guest room to visit company. As a background, I have been in the internet technology field for 15 years. I installed the correct software and the device was recognized by the computer and everything quickly connected despite unhelpful prompts. I never had an image on the screen, even though the laptop recognized the presence of a TV. I got pretty intermittent sound from the TV, so that part "worked". I've tried several known good HDMI cables to fix this issue, changed connections etc, all standard IT diagnostics. I spent almost an hour experimenting with all possible resolutions, but the poor sound quality didn't give me much hope. The paperwork that came with it tells you to contact customer service if you have any problems, rather than returning the item and leaving a bad review. Besides making an international call, there are two options: download a dubious app or send an email. I decided to take the last option. I gave up and went to my local big box store and found an alternative method. Finally, after 36 hours, I received a response to my support request asking for my Revain order number. Too little, too late, as the goods were already on their way back via UPS. This may or may not work in a different configuration, but the buyer should be careful.
