Review on Set of 2 Clear Stair Treads Carpet Protectors by David Sokolov

My cat loves to use the top rung of our carpeted stairs as a scratching post. I bought these to hopefully cover the area and distract it from the many scratching posts. The hard plastic was difficult to fit on the stairs because it was folded. I couldn't let the top lay flat. I tried a hair dryer as suggested to heat the plastic and help it lay flat. Once cooled, it reverted to the same unusable form. I cannot attach the plastic part to the carpet. I left it there and if it slips I put it back in. I put the rug over a large part of it so nobody gets their foot caught on it and falls down the stairs. This item seemed like a good idea to me but it just won't stick to the carpet and I think it's a waste of money.
