Set of 2 Clear Stair Treads Carpet Protectors Review

I needed nails to hold it in place. The plastic is too difficult to bend. This is not an item that you will use immediately. you will work something This of course does NOT cover the entire staircase as advertised. There is about 2 inches of open carpet on either side if you center it on a step, which is what most people do. But most importantly, the price of this product is too high. If you can solve all these problems, then once installed, it is a worthy product. Durable and not slippery.

What I was looking for. Have owned the set for about 20 years and they did their job of protecting our carpet even when the house was full of teenagers and teenagers. The new carpet is beginning to emerge and is already torn. These protectors are exactly what I had before. I only ordered two as the reviews weren't very good. I bought the exact same steps a few years ago for about $2 each. I have no idea why it cost me $50 for 4 of them now. This is pure mugging at its finest. So far they are still quite stiff and difficult to put on carpet. We haven't nailed them yet as most suspect, which is really necessary as they don't install properly on carpeted stairs - the corner doesn't stay close to the edge. So technically they can be a little dangerous if you don't pin or secure them as they move. But in terms of quality and style, they work and are good. My cat loves to use the top rung of our carpeted stairs as a scratching post. I bought these to hopefully cover the area and distract it from the many scratching posts. The hard plastic was difficult to fit on the stairs because it was folded. I couldn't let the top lay flat. I tried a hair dryer as suggested to heat the plastic and help it lay flat.
