Review on πŸ”Š Hagibis Bluetooth Receiver: Upgrade to Bluetooth 5.0 for Hands-Free Car Kits & Home Audio - Grey U3 by Patrick Biletnikoff

That is trash. Don't waste money.

Short version first, full review below. Bad: 1. Noise from almost every power supply I've tried. Tried 6.2. Noise from the block itself. Sounds like morse code.3. Sometimes only connected for an audio call.4. Sometimes it doesn't connect at all. The USB fit is too tight. Firm enough to accidentally damage the cable or connector when trying to plug it in.6. The cable is very soft and can break. Pros: 1. Nothing like that. I wish I could give 0 stars. I have an old clunky USB powered bluetooth receiver that I was looking to replace with this one but no luck. I didn't think about the noise of the power supply when I bought it. I first tried it in my car with a USB port. Even before my phone was connected to it, the speakers were making noise from the USB port AND the Bluetooth receiver. It sounded like Morse code on an old record. My old receiver does the same thing but stops when the phone is plugged in unless the power is really bad. Once my phone connected to this new receiver, the interference didn't stop. I've tried with the phone turned down and the stereo turned up and vice versa. However, the noise was terribly loud. I then tried plugging it into my power adapter but the sound was still terrible. I then took it in and tried the following: my computer's front USB port, my computer's rear USB port, my QC 3.0 wall adapter, and finally the standard LG V30s wall charger. Of everything I plugged in, only the LG charger sounded clean. This tells me that this charger delivers very clean power. Come on LG! Although it doesn't help in the car. The manufacturer will probably respond by telling me that my machine's USB power supply isn't clean enough and it's not their fault, but that's bullshit. My old receiver works great because it was designed to isolate input power from audio output. This isn't Hagibis. This sucks and they should be ashamed. There are other problems too. The USB connector, which is basically the whole device, is a bit on the small side. It was difficult to fit in all the USB ports I've tried it on. Communication is not very good. Sometimes I couldn't connect at all, and other times it would only connect to call audio and not media audio. The cord is very soft and thin. I don't expect it to last long if you move around a lot. In general, everything about this device is terrible. DO NOT BUY THIS. Spend a little more for something made by people who really care if their product works.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Good but not great
