This tool works great. It's durable, easy to set up and easy to use. The handle is long enough to provide good leverage and it kinda locks in a compressed position, but I wouldn't trust it to stay compressed without additional pressure on the handle from the user. One thing to be wary of when you first apply force to the grip to begin compressing the spring is there is some resistance to pulling the spring cover off the detents so that when you let go it will there is a sudden release. It is recommended that you tap each valve stem with a hammer to loosen the valve caps before using the compressor. I've used this on about 400lb dual springs, it worked great.
