Not hard enough for hand tools

. I didn't totally flop it because this item wasn't what I really expected. Year after year I collected and crafted knives, all my stones were wet, dry, and diamonds. I was looking for a thin ceramic stone to sharpen. It wasn't this stone. This could be just what a chef or sushi chef could be looking for. I didn't expect it to be so soft. I compare it to pressed clay because when you use the stone after soaking and keeping it moist, it looks like clay dust mixed with water. It was very easy to cut through the stone, creating unwanted grooves which I was told could damage my knife if I didn't pull it out again. Maybe that's what you need, but not what I need. Customer service was excellent in communication and quickly resolved my issue. Many Thanks.
