I don't know what people do to make popcorn work in this thing, but our popper is a waste of money. Our 1100W microwave oven, according to the instructions, should make popcorn in 1 1/2 to 2 minutes at full power. We have the first core appears only after 1 minute 20 seconds. After 2 minutes, the cores will begin to burst periodically, and after 2 minutes 30 seconds they will slow down. We turn off the microwave, and all the grains burn like coals. The problem is that there is no single extraction method. While some kernels start early, most don't, so some kernels are fine, but most of them burn and are inedible. Complete Divorce.
