This is the first time I've used a buffing pad and have had these buffing pads to finish the wooden table I'm working on. Long story short, I added a few coats of spar and then sanded everything with 1500 grit sandpaper. This not only removed any imperfections, but removed all of the shine as well. Then I added some Meguiar M205 and polished it with buffing pads. After that, the coating becomes very smooth and shiny. I am very satisfied with the result. I have no experience with other pads (yet), but they definitely contributed to a great result.
