I bought these and built my own filtration system from things I already had around the house so all I had to do was buy filters. It worked well because I live on a small fixed income. It was very easy to do and these filters do the job perfectly. They pass the red food coloring test and my water tastes a lot better. Water doesn't take forever to filter either. My old 18 year old cat vomited several times a day and felt like the water was burning my throat. Since using these filters, my cat has stopped throwing up and I enjoy drinking water again. If I can afford it, I absolutely need ceramic nozzles for arsenic, fluoride, and so on. It's been about a month since my review and I have a question. It's also been about a month since I disassembled and cleaned this system. The water at the top never drains completely. However, I only add water when I use it, so it never gets a chance to just set, except for the top part. I was going to add some water to the system before bed and smelled moldy. When I climbed into the top container, the sides of the bucket were slimy. The water that comes out is odorless, but the slimy water at the top means bacteria, and from what I understand moldy filters are bad, right? Please help if you know anything about this because I can't find anyone from AquaCrest to ask.
