Review on Chemex Classic Pour Over Glass Coffeemaker Kitchen & Dining for Coffee, Tea & Espresso by Jessica Simmons

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Delicious coffee, filigree device

Advantages This pour-over coffee machine consistently brews good coffee. I pair mine with a reusable metal filter for even more coffee brewing fun. I like the size 10 coffee mugs and the curved sponge for pouring coffee into my mug. Note that "cup" means a typical 5 ounce cup of coffee, not a true 8 fl ounce cup. It holds 50 ounces of liquid, not 80. If like me you're looking for the perfect cup of coffee, this will help you make it. Remember that the grind of the coffee and the temperature of the water used are the main factors that determine the taste of your coffee. My perfect cup of coffee is made with freshly ground coffee beans and water heated to 190F. Hopefully this coffee maker will help you find a winning coffee brewing combination. Substitute. My fellow bulls at the china shops have to be careful with this delicate tool. I broke it once while cleaning the interior with a wire brush, which turned out to be a bad idea. I broke it once, hit my elbow and it fell onto its side. This is a glass coffee maker with all its features and disadvantages. Safe cleaning is my biggest challenge. For me, cleaning the interior is dangerous and fraught with danger. I avoid it or have someone with thinner hands do it.

Pros
  • understandable even for an old man
Cons
  • I don't really dislike it, everything is fine
