It's really not a panacea but overall I'm glad I have it. Worst of all, the temperature fluctuates wildly. I think the device should be better at averaging the sensor output. Overall accuracy is +/- 10 degrees as others have said. But at the same time I like the device. It's simple, easy to install and seems to work well on a couple of AA batteries. It beeps occasionally if the temperature in the freezer is OK, but since I have it in the basement, it doesn't bother me. I looked at a few other devices and none of them suited my needs. I also wanted to be wired for simplicity and battery life.
