problems. Read before you buy

Given the price and the checkered history of this company, let's just say I'm not impressed and wouldn't buy any other K&N product. First, make sure you're not just cleaning the intake manifold. But also a filter. Both of mine were covered in plastic and rubber leftovers from the manufacturing process. As others have said, this is NOT a cold air intake. No fresh cold air is supplied to the filter. The equipment supplied was wrong. I had a nut that didn't fit the bolt that came with it. Luckily I have parts in the garage so it wasn't a big deal but for the price of this thing. okay stop it None of the clamps fit the silicone adapter, which was also quite large and leaks unless tightened at the compression point of the intake manifold. Worst of all, the A/C compressor bolt hole that attaches to the intake manifold bracket was the wrong size. It was about 1/8 inch too small and had to be reamed to size. Now that beautiful paint will rust as the hole had to be patched. I also had to trim off the excess surface from all of the holes in the intake manifold. Overall not impressed and will not buy K&N again. I have been buying filters from them for many years, the first fence. But the sound this thing makes almost makes up for it. Not what I was hoping for, definitely not worth the price for the issues.
