I had to practice to get used to it. The first time I used it it was awkward because I wanted to hold it close to the burning tip but obviously it was impossible without burning yourself. It reaches 450°C, which is enough to burn firewood. The harder the wood, the harder it is to burn, so it's a slow hobby! Overall the quality of the tool is excellent and the price is certainly affordable and worth everything that comes with it. I LOVE the fact that it comes with a few sheets of carbon paper so I could sketch out the design I wanted and didn't have to worry about having a free hand with a writing tool. It has made my work much cleaner. I think the 5 nozzles that slide over the heating element get hotter than the screw nozzles, but both types worked fine. Not that it sounds like pyrotechnics, but the smell of burning cedar wood while painting was quite relaxing. 😁
