Although it does what it is supposed to do, it does not recognize or decode all systems. It worked fine on most of my remotes and deciphered them, which gave me some of the reasons why the buttons weren't working as they should. The ones for my cable box are not recognized (shows received signal) but cannot be identified or decoded. It was what I needed, but it let me down. For TV and Blu-Ray remotes it worked as it should and showed me why my new Universal was only partially working. I would still buy it because it might be useful, but I wish I had known beforehand that it doesn't work with all remotes. Despite its decoding limitations, it's still a useful tool when dealing with lots of human remote controls.
