Review on ๐Ÿ“ป Uniden BC75XLT Compact Handheld Scanner: Emergency, Marine, Auto Racing, CB Radio, NOAA Weather, and More! (New Uniden SR30C Bearcat Replacement Model!) by Adam Quintana

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It works for me but there are small problems.

Everything is fine on the device itself. I use it to listen to train news. I live about 3.5 miles from railroad tracks and get a decent signal after adding another antenna. It's easy enough to carry around in the car when I'm at the track taking videos or photos. The instructions are a bit vague so I watched some YouTube videos and it helped a lot. I use regular Revain brand AA batteries and get decent runtimes. I also live near a small airport so I can listen to some messages from a small plane. The problem I have is that most of the police/fire departments in my area are digitized and this doesn't work for them. So again, there is nothing wrong with the device itself. Just find out what's available near you before you click the "Police, Fire Department" ad/description and avoid disappointment. I've really had no luck with weather information and honestly it's easier to use my smartphone to get updated information. weather information. So I don't see that as a selling point. I want the screen backlight to last longer than it already is. Too often it's hard to see which channel it is when I use search mode and then block that channel. Overall, this is a decent first-time scanner for me.

Pros
  • Narrowband Compatibility: Proper channel matching with narrowband modulation now required for business and public safety.
Cons
  • Periodicity
