I bought this stain in Cognac for a nightstand that I'm building to match an existing dresser with an Acacia type of wood finish. While this stain is a little more warm/red than I expected, it still looks very rich and accomplished my goal of making cheap plywood and lumber look much more high end. The first photo shows the stain on a maple plank, and the second shows the stain on plywood with a roll of birch veneer nearby for color comparison. It was very easy applying this with a foam brush, and there wasn't much excess to wipe off but a light swipe with a clean towel gave it a streak-free finish. While one coat would have been fine on its own, a second coat gave this a richer and more consistent color. I also like the fact that the stain is in a tall bottle rather than a can, which made it easier to pour into another vessel to dip my brush into.
