We have always been a multi-cat family, but until recently there has never been a problem with "deposits" in unwanted places, namely in the beds. One of my neutered cats intentionally (viciously?) urinates on the carpet, any plastic or leather, on the bed, or wherever he pleases. It only happens certain times of the month - new moon and full moon madness, anyone? I don't know why we put up with that, other than that we love him despite his ugliness. Anyway, I've tried smaller waterproof covers (from Wal-Mart) which work fine except I have to use 3 of them to cover the bed. This case is wonderful. I put one of the other blankets under it to be on the safe side, and itzi did indeed leave a large puddle on the last full moon. Urine did not ooze out leaving the bed dry. I should add that I put the cover on top of all sheets/duvets as it is very roomy. I've had the case for a month and have washed it weekly and have had no problems with it melting or losing its water resistance. I wash warm with a stain remover, dry in a constant pressure. I am so pleased with it that I will be ordering another one so I don't have to wait for the laundry to finish to cover the bed. If I find it does what other reviewers have mentioned I'll definitely update my review, but for now I can't recommend it more highly.
