No frills, no frills networking products

USB2 hubs are meant to be downright boring: they know exactly what to expect, and they should always deliver on those expectations. That's the center and it works. Check.Specs lists self-powered and 24V DC options. Check. and then some. When the dedicated DC connection is not powered, most self-powered hubs operate as bus-powered. If you're looking for a guarantee that the hub won't draw power from the upstream port, this handy feature becomes a major drawback. Like most others, this hub can be bus-powered, but unlike most others, it can be configured as a fully standalone hub. You would never have guessed this from the manual, but within this beautiful black box are two nondescript jumpers that allow you to hard-wire your power supply of choice. DIN rail clips are listed in the specifications. Check. most of time. Clips are work but flimsy. We ended up using them, but if our application causes significant vibration, I would replace them with stronger Phoenix Contact clamps. Significantly cheaper than competitors with DIN mounting: bushings from the industrial suppliers Beckhoff, B&B, Moxa and ICP DAS. three to six times more expensive. Even high-end brands still require an input fuse. We have four of these and my biggest complaint is the clamps that come with them.
