I've been using this hub for over a year on demanding applications that experience high temperatures of -20 to +100F. During this period, the performance was flawless. The hub is easy to mount thanks to the pre-drilled mounting holes. The best USB hub I've ever used.

It was recommended by astrophotographers who work outdoors and run on 12v batteries and that's what I use it for. The voltage range that the device accepts is fantastic. The screwable cable connector is easy to use and very reliable. The USB ports connect well and hold up well even with moving cables. No broken connections. Can solve Raspberry Pi's current drain problem

I use this with my Raspberry Pi model B (regular B, not +). I set jumpers so the Pi never powers the USB ports (see other reviews). In the past, when using a hub with a different power supply, I have experienced reboots where the drives spin up after a period of sleep, possibly due to a temporary excess current draw. USB2 hubs are meant to be downright boring: they know exactly what to expect, and they should always deliver on those expectations. That's the center and it works.
