I decided to install Syba SD-PEX20122 2 USB 3.0 ports with 19 pin PCI-E x1 card in my Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H -B3 (rev. 1.0 ) for two reasons: 1. It's one of the few PCI-E USB 3.0 expansion cards that has a connector that I can use to connect to the front USB ports. Most other cards have a USB port on the card itself, which I find useless as the connector itself supports 2 ports instead of 1.2. It is based on a VIA USB 3.0 host controller which should be more reliable than NEC/Renesas on a Gigabyte motherboard. In a nutshell. I can't get it to work with Windows 7 64-bit. A review on another very popular computer parts website said that one reviewer (who had the same phone) had to update the BIOS to Gigabyte UEFI for it to work. I've tried that and no luck. I've tried various things such as E.g.: Disabling the onboard USB 3.0 ports, changing the BIOS, and messing around with different combinations of BIOS settings, including xHCI and eHCI pass-through. No matter what I tried, it still didn't work. The expansion card was recognized by Windows, but the connected peripherals (USB 2.0 and USB 3.0) did not work or did not get any power. I've tried different driver versions (1.80A and 1.90A) but still no luck. There's always a chance the one I received was defective, but I really didn't want to spend any more time on it and there's no indication that it was actually defective. That's why he returned. Not recommended. USB 3.0 is still in its infancy.
