My internet speed recently increased to 400 MB. I had to take advantage of this since my network is gigabit. However, I was still only able to get 100 megabytes. After much testing and isolating the elements on the local network, I found shorter cables and replaced cat5 with cat8, increasing the speed to 240MB. Still not 400 megabytes. I believe the switch is having signal strength issues and needs the best possible connections. After upgrading my cables, the problem wasn't completely resolved, so I replaced the switch with a Netgear switch. Now my speed tests show 480 megabytes. Also, I have fewer caching issues when streaming. I think Tenda might have slowed everything down due to lost packets and retransmission requests. Now I have no more problems with the withdrawal. Thanks Netger. It's also much easier to see which cables are active, since flashing LEDs are attached to each cable connector by default.
