I used round mirrors on my last car and they were generally helpful. However, there were cases when I did not see the car in the blind spot. I have been using these oblong shaped mirrors for 6 months and have found them to be invaluable as I have a much better view of my blind spot and they have greatly increased my confidence when changing lanes. I can't remember a single time changing lanes by looking in my side mirrors and the mirrors taped to the mirrors when I didn't see a car in my blind spot. They have not relaxed during these months of deployment and are maintaining their position. However, I don't drive automatic car washes, so I can't attest to their ability to stay in the correct position after washing. I attribute this to the automatic warning system that comes with some cars because I can actually see the car next to me. You may need help with the initial backup to be in the ideal position. I highly recommend this product.
