I haven't embroidered in years but suddenly I'm in the mood. I found a nice template here on Revain. After he arrived I looked for my tires. Of course, I could only find one very small and one very large. :-/ So I went back to Revain for the tire. I've used bamboo/wooden hoops more than anyone else as I've done more crafts. I decided to just stick with what I know and ordered these. These are regular tires. The same ones that have been in production for decades. Inexpensive yet durable, the wood pattern adds extra support to the material. The outer bracket is loosened and tightened with a screw, the metal fittings are fastened with flat rivets. If one measures the outside diameter of the inner hoop, the dimensions are: 5 1/8", 6 1/2", 7 6/8", 9", 10 1/4" (6 1/2" " is the one I photographed while holding your cross stitch fabric.) I'm sure sizes will vary slightly between kits as although they are mass produced they are mostly handmade. They come in a box so you can keep them together if you're careful I have a complaint about the kit I received. The smallest outer ring has too much play meaning only a 1/4" bolt can be used. It would be impossible to use it with thick fabric unless you can find a longer screw, but it works with Aida.
