The finish rubs off on anything it touches and will ruin your clothes

These seem perfectly fine except for a total deal-killer: The weird, oily finish rubs off on your skin and anything else it touches, leaving a black mark that will ruin clothing and require hand-scrubbing with soap.
It's hard for me to believe that anyone could think that these would be appropriate for use in furniture.
