Review on 🌢️ Cole & Mason 12.5-Inch Capstan Pepper Grinder in Wood Brown by Mike Devine

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Overpriced but still a good buy

I give 4 out of 5 for value for money. I fully admit that I knowingly overpaid the price for the pepper mill. However, not because I like branded goods; I couldn't find anything cheaper that met my size, shape and color criteria. He does his job well. There are no complaints. The grinder is steel, which is nice. The finish of the coffee grinder is smooth and pleasant. It has enough pepper for many months of home cooking or maybe a few weeks of professional work. I expect it to last. To be honest now that I think about it I really think I would make this purchase again if I had to as I plan on getting lots of it. However 4 stars because it costs so much just because it's Cole & Mason. You can find an equally good coffee grinder for less if you're not picky about aesthetics like I am. A tip for filling: A funnel must be used when filling the peppercorns. However, the top-down steel bar is very wobbly with the lid off, meaning it's nearly impossible to add spice without forcing the bar against the tank wall rather than holding it dead. No problem. Just make sure it's not flooded; Leave about an inch and a half at the top. Then put the top on and install the top screw (Caution: This steel rod will be under tension because the peppercorns will try to wedge it in the side panel). Gently shake the grinder up and down to move the peppercorns and release the stick to return to the centre. :) I included a photo alongside other items for scale.
