If the software is similar to the FT-8500 software, I think it will be.

Edited July 31, 2017 Well I went out to edit the program I had on the second radio I replaced when the first died. Well that would allow me to program it, but when I tried to plug in the mic to change the frequencies the way I wanted it, nothing on the mic worked, it didn't light up, NOTHING. So lugging two bad luck makes me think the whole line is junk I say again DO NOT BUY THESE RADIOS they are junk if they die so fast. I originally paid $250 for each radio, so $500 plus dollars is down the drain. If I lived where I had to drive on bumpy roads then maybe, but all my roads are paved. So if you buy one of these because of the price, don't say you weren't warned. Edited on May 2, 2017 but no longer works. For this reason I changed the stars back to 2 stars. It's not that I used the radio that much, so I'm disappointed that it died so quickly. It was a good radio when it worked but should have lasted longer in my opinion, maybe that was the only time I had to buy a protection plan. For this reason I advise against buying this radio. === ===== It works but I just sat on my desk next to my computer equivalent to an electronic hash and just waited for my RT Systems software to appear here, I have Chirp software and QPS588UV_2 tried out. 00 . Both do what they do very well, but both lack features that RT software would hopefully have. If the software is similar to the FT-8500 software then I think I need that. The time will show. ======= Edited 7 Mar 2016: I received an AT-5888UV programmer from RT Systems and I would suggest you buy that too, it makes radio programming a lot easier. For what I paid for the radio I think it's a good deal.
