Review on πŸ“ˆ Efficiently Monitor Propane Tank Levels with AP Products 024-1001 Gas Level Indicator by Larry Allen

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product especially for the price although a little inaccurate

Overall I was happy with this Bluetooth propane tank meter. It was easy to set up and use, and the phone app was intuitive and easy to understand. I installed it on a 300L gas tank on the roof (yes, on the roof - that's how they do it abroad where I live :-). So it was much more convenient to check the digital gauge than to climb onto the roof to check the analog gauge on the tank itself. The main complaint I have is that the tank reader isn't very accurate but gives a rough idea. As mentioned, my gas tank has an analog gauge and I have found that the digital gauge is actually about 15% different than the analog gauge on the tank itself. The accuracy of the counter is also highly dependent on the outside temperature (which is understandable given the sharp fluctuations in the volume of gas at low and high temperatures). But all I knew was that the gas tank was about 15% smaller than the digital gauge indicated, especially in cold weather. This kept me from running out of fuel in the winter and having to climb onto the roof in the winter, so it worked. Also note that the battery should last a full year according to the manufacturer's website, but I was only able to live on the battery for around 7-8 months. It really isn't that bad for battery life on a Bluetooth device that's constantly transmitting. But still less than recommended. The battery level indicator is not entirely accurate either. In the winter it shows very little (around 20%), but then shows a battery level of around 60% in warmer weather. So take your battery level readings with a grain of salt. But overall I'm very happy with this purchase, especially at only $40 when comparable prices are closer to $200. I would buy this again.
