I purchased this primarily to to cut a single 11/16 inch hole through 1mm thick sheet of aluminum, and it BARELY did it, after a lot of coaxing and binding up and proceeding very slowly. I know these are just cheap steel bits, not very sharp, and NOT suitable for cutting other steel or stronger metals, I get that. But 1mm aluminum? A steel bit should go through 1mm aluminum like butter (like my other cheap steel metric step bits do). I assume these should be good for wood, and probably only wood, but haven't tried yet on wood. But for the cheap price, and the single 11/16 inch hole I needed to drill, it did the job once, and I'm satisfied.
