Review on πŸ’Ύ Kingston Technology HyperX 8GB DDR3 Dual Channel Kit - 1600MHz PC3 12800 SDRAM (2x4GB Modules) - KHX1600C9D3K2/8GX by Miguel Yurco

Attractive Low Profile DDR3 SDRAM 1600MHz 9-9-9-24!

Having seen many gaudy, flashy DDR3 memory modules with ridiculously large heatsinks (Vengeance, Ripjaw X), this was eye candy. The memory is slightly taller or wider than a standard DDR3 module but has a heatsink. LOOKS GREAT - Glossy blue finish with silver accents. Looks solid. This is actually the second stage of Kingston's ("Genesis") DDR3 series and is similar in size and performance to the G.Skill Sniper series. I installed Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus (Push Install) alongside these HyperX modules on a Gigabyte Z68 phone with no problem. I see there is plenty of room for another 2 modules for the future. Try the Corsair Vengeance. Priced at $49.99 for 2 x 4GB 1.5V 9-9-9-24 clocked 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM, it's not the cheapest, but it looks a lot sleeker than other memory modules and is great if you want to fill a large nearby CPU cooler. Honestly, 4 or 6GB is enough for 64-bit Windows 7, but don't overpay for 8GB, which will come in handy in the future. Tip: My motherboard automatically sets the memory frequency to 1333MHz. sync, so I had to manually set it to 1600MHz. So far there are no problems.
