I've tried all kinds of car mounts for my phone: window suction cup, dashboard mount, air vent mount, universal clip, phone specific, you name it. This is by far the best mount I've ever used. The magnet is strong and secure and easily holds my Nexus 5 even when I place the steel plate in the Ringke Slim case I use. The phone has never slipped or fallen down. If I could make one change to this machine it would be the ability to remove the lag screw after installing the bracket. The screw goes down in front of my Nissan Altima's stereo display and blocks part of the view when the reversing camera is working. This is a minor annoyance though and I wouldn't use the device just for that. I highly recommend this product! Later update: I solved the problem of the interfering screws by replacing the wing nut with a McMaster flat socket head cap screw. It would be great if WizGear included them in their product, but you can purchase a box of 50 of these screws (you'll need the 10-32 version, 3/4 inch long) from McMaster-Carr at http://www.mcmaster .com/#92220a175/=z4wmkq. That makes this product absolutely perfect for me. I also found that my Nexus 5 can be attached to the mount without a metal plate at all. Wireless charging alignment magnets interact with magnets I suspect any Qi-compatible device with alignment magnets will work just as well.
