Overall this is a very useful product that helped reduce creaking in an old house and bolstered the flooring project I was working on. I will continue to use this product in the future, but I ALWAYS test it on scrap wood of the same thickness before using it in the real deal. The hardness and depth of the wood will affect how the bottom is drilled and this step will save you from broken screws. However, the drill bit size of 1/8" hasn't worked for me in any situation I've tried. I would also like to see a metal head instead of abs for the screw part. The press was too soft to break the head and contributed to the turning of the screw. Sand down the thickness of the washer and apply epoxy to the washer to get a nice clean click. For example, one use for this was to fix 1/2" hardwood floor where I couldn't use a nailer. The hole was no bigger than a nail, and the joint was much more secure. This used a 9/64" drill bit, there the 1/8/ didn't have enough torque to lock the screw and it turned in the hole. 2nd example. On a 1" thick bamboo stair step, I upped the drill to 5/32" after prematurely breaking many screws.
