This is my first induction hob and it has exceeded my expectations so far. My expectations, in no particular order, were: 1. Portable and lightweight that I can move around without help. In every way it worked perfectly.1. This is an extra burner I'm planning to use this Thanksgiving, but its convenience means I'll be using it for more than just cooking parties. My electric stove has numbers for temperature, but a lot of these are guesses and the longer it's on the temperature drops, which is why it takes so long to heat a pot of water or get to a good temperature for frying. There are quick heat, simmer, and sear buttons to help you figure out what temperature is best for what you're cooking, and I love how accurate and clear it is.3. I've always loved the idea of a flat cooktop, I like to keep my kitchen as clean and sterile as possible. Yes, I used the word sterile. I grew up in a household where every accessible surface was covered with decorative cookie jars, fragile glasses, and clunky disposable dishes, none of which lived up to the standards of cleanliness I aspire to as an adult. But this flat cooktop shows every fingerprint, every drop of grease and is easy to clean with a damp kitchen towel without disassembling the burners and soaking them in the sink.4. Fast heating, you won't believe it. My family's first microwave makes me feel like a kid again. We reheated everything in it, when my stepdad brought home a Costco microwave it seemed magical. This induction hob heats things like water in record time. I heated water for three cups of tea in just two minutes! I cooked fried mushrooms in four minutes! I wish I had an induction cooktop for my entire cooktop.5. This cooktop is portable and light enough that I can take it with me, which is really saying something. I was in so much pain in my shoulders and now my wrist that I almost didn't notice it. I didn't want to have another kitchen utensil to carry around (I'm looking at your cast iron slow cooker) but it's very easy to move, I keep it on a shelf under the counter and have moved it myself with no qualms about buying this one Hob, not sorry.
