Great hob! - Table burner

This is our first induction experience and it has been positive. Even though the instructions are quite simple, we're still searching/pushing buttons to get what we want. I have always avoided induction because you have to use "special pans". Most of my new pans seem to be induction compatible these days so doubts are gone. In any case, if your pans aren't labeled, a magnet is included so you can check your pans. This induction hob brings water to a boil quickly and turns off again quickly…

Absolutely great for frying in cast iron

What I like: Beautifully designed user controls. Stable on its base, with attractive lines. Great for frying. What could be better: the hob is 10 inches in diameter - maybe a little small for a large water pot. Cooked up some onions and hot dogs on this induction cooktop for the first batch of last night's dinner. The seller supplies you with a handy little magnet that you can use to test the functionality of your pan or pot. I have a couple of skillets that do just fine, one of which is my…

Works well, fan is moderately noisy

This is my first induction cooker so there isn't much to compare. I've mainly used gas stoves, so I'll compare them to them. Their use is very simple. Plug it in, press ON and then choose the cooking mode you want to use. I mainly tested the frying mode. I assume the other modes are similar - after all, it might not do much good if the main task is to heat the pot. First the pot. The base must be steel or cast iron to work with an induction cooktop. If a magnet sticks to the bottom of the pot…

Great hob for small kitchens

This is my first induction hob and it has exceeded my expectations so far. My expectations, in no particular order, were: 1. Optional cooktop to replace the electric cooktop in my dingy rental apartment, 2. Continuous heat, 3. Easy to keep clean, 4. Fast heat for essentials like water for pasta or fry; 5. Portable and lightweight that I can move around without help. In every way it worked perfectly.1. This is an extra burner I'm planning to use this Thanksgiving, but its convenience means I'll…

First induction burner for me.

We have an old-fashioned electric burner. It's a serpentine like you see on the stove, plug it in and it heats up. Neither I nor my wife know where and when we got it, but it's old (probably before 1980). Last week my wife had to travel and wanted to bring it but we couldn't find it. I've seen them in stores, and if you watch shows or read about mini homes or RVs, you often see kitchens with one or two of them. Take it out, plug it in, use it, put it away. For our own use we often camp and it…

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Discontinued model

There is no gas in my town, so I either stick with spiral grills, which cook unevenly, or flat electric grills, which can scratch and also cook unevenly. I wanted to look at a stove with induction burners for more even cooking and when I saw this unit I thought it would be a good opportunity to try something related to induction cooking. The device has arrived and although larger/longer than expected, it looks/feels high quality. I turned it on and my biggest disappointment is that it doesn't…
