This is my first induction cooker so there isn't much to compare. I've mainly used gas stoves, so I'll compare them to them. Their use is very simple. Plug it in, press ON and then choose the cooking mode you want to use. I mainly tested the frying mode. I assume the other modes are similar - after all, it might not do much good if the main task is to heat the pot. First the pot. The base must be steel or cast iron to work with an induction cooktop. If a magnet sticks to the bottom of the pot, it can usually be used. If your home doesn't have a single fridge magnet, fear not, one magnet is included. The build quality looks decent. The glass surface will be a magnet for fingerprints, but they're easy to clean. At the bottom is the intake fan and at the back of the unit are the exhaust vents. Make sure they are not blocked during use. When I plugged it in, I was surprised that sparks came out. These sparks are usually harmless, but most circuits are designed to avoid them. I tested this on a steel-bottomed, coated aluminum pan designed for all hob types, including induction. I have used the same pan on both my gas range and this induction range. When the induction is on, the fan turns on and is moderately noisy. It can stay on for a few minutes even after it is turned off. It's not as loud as a kitchen exhaust fan, but you have to raise your voice a little to be heard. I don't have a sound level meter so I can't give an estimate in dB. However, it was louder than I expected. The pot heats up very quickly, faster than my gas stove at max flame. I've seen this with frying (food browns faster than expected) and boiling water. Some adjustment is definitely required when using it. For example, I usually lift the pan when frying, but every time the pan detaches from the surface, an error message pops up (probably harmless) and I have to put it back carefully (instead of just tapping it when it's on the stove). ). ). gas stove). But overall it's easy to use and I really like that it heats up so quickly. So far my experience with it has been mostly positive. The only thing I would like is that the fan is not that loud. Haven't tried it yet, but I plan to use it to replace my butane gas stove for family stew nights. I will update how it goes.
