I'm a high school math teacher and I've finally found a pencil sharpener that lasts over a year. I bought this pencil sharpener and have been using it in my class for two and a half years. It is currently showing no signs of slowing down. I used to use about one electric pencil sharpener a year (usually cheap ones from Costco), so I figured it would make more sense to get a good one. Pros: The sharpener is very fast, I usually have to scold my students and tell them the pencil is finished sharpening and they don't have to leave it there for so long. - I've been using it for two and a half years now and it still kicks (knock on wood). Before that I used about 3 other sharpeners, usually about one a year - The container is very easy to empty and makes it very easy for my cleaners to take care of it - Tremendous value given the cheap price Cons: - It's a bit noisy, but most sharpeners (thankfully it's fast so it's not a big deal) - it's bigger than most other sharpeners I've had (although I suppose that's why this thing is so hard) Bottom line : if you need a storage container for a pencil sharpener that will be used several times a day when students put their pencils in, then this is what you need. I'm sure this thing would probably be overkill for normal home use. I will definitely take another one if this one ever dies.
