Review on Brother SX 4000 Electronic Typewriter by Jessica Williams

I got this typewriter to fill out 3 page copy forms and it does the job perfectly. It was easy to set up and up and running right away. Loading paper is easy and the keyboard is comfortable to type on. There are many options to make typing easier. You can quickly adjust the left and right margins. The only problem I've seen in previous reviews is how it handles capital letters. There is no lid lock in the traditional sense and I can't figure out why. Instead, it has a Shift key that lets you turn on the capital letters, but it's not turned off. Instead, you have to press the Shift key below it. I'm uncomfortable typing the traditional way because I had to take my hands off the keyboard to turn off Shift Lock or I kept typing in all caps. Luckily, there are no long lines to fill out the forms, and I use another feature to prevent accidental capitalization. There's a mode that lets you preview each line before printing, although this slows things down a bit, it helps reduce frustration, making mistakes, and shift-clicking. The only other issue I have is that there is now a way to save the border settings. You'll have to adjust them every time you turn the typewriter back on. Luckily this is done quickly. This typewriter does everything I want, I just wish there was a traditional lid. Lock button and the ability to save field settings. When using a typewriter, I turn off the spell checker because I use a lot of medical terms and it just beeps. The correction tape works great, but again, I don't use it with the preview line feature, but it's nice to know it's there. It's also great to have a pen as I will be taking this floor with me to work. I'm still happy with the typewriter and amazed at how quickly I received it.
