I've had my Food Network reader for years and thought it was for the best until it broke (in the wash). Bought this as a spare when I was cooking Thanksgiving turkey and was nervous as it's not the brand I've been using before. I'm so glad I chose this - it's BETTER than my previous reader! It's a faster read - the part you put in the meat is oversized in both length and thickness. It's more durable and waterproof, so I'm not afraid to wash everything. And what I love most is that it has a cheat sheet for safe meat temperatures right on the back, not as a separate card or cover (you don't need it). It's just a good standalone tool! It's also easier to read as far as the font size goes!
