I've only ridden two other boards in my life, mostly just to try and learn. i have never done it before. One was a cheap kids skateboard a long time ago and the other was recently when I tried my friend's longboard. I had some confidence in it, so I decided to study the mini cruiser. I felt it might be convenient since college was right around the corner and I wanted to bike and skate on campus. Apart from these two experiences I have no real experience with any board. When I first received this board it had a slight cigarette smell when opened which went away after a while as stated by some other reviews. I definitely recommend loosening the bogies and wheels a bit as they are tight and the wheels don't spin as freely as they could and you can't spin well. Looser trucks also help you practice balance, and since this is a mini cruiser, maneuverability should be one of its strengths. It only took me a few hours to drive it confidently. During those hours I abused the board and it crashed into the door and wall of my garage and landed on its side many times. It scratches, but functionally it's still very usable. I ordered the White Panda version with a white board and black carriages and wheels, but the white board gets dirty easily and I would recommend a different color unless you're really keen on that one. (At the time, only White Panda and White Mamba were available to me.) I'm a 5'10" male and weigh 185 pounds. This board fits me very well. It seems suitable for all ages. Yes, it flexes and I was able to bend it onto the ground (on purpose by bouncing on it like a trampoline) and it seems flexible enough not to break. The only thing that bothered me a bit was the T-bracket of the tool, and one of the washers had a burr. The Allen/Phillips key that comes out of the tool isn't the most secure, but be careful, you should have no problem losing it. The ridge disc was easy to file, I didn't even notice until I looked very closely at the carriages. There's enough space between the carts below to carry it between your back and backpack, through the webbing, carts to the front. It feels like it only weighs 4 to 5 pounds, so it compares to other types of boards extremely wearable. If you're looking for a penny board at a great price, this board is a great alternative, especially if you pick it to explore first and see if you like it. EDIT 2/24/20: Compared to other plastic decks, this thing flexes. A LOT OF. It doesn't feel as stable as a wooden or more rigid plastic deck. Remember. I ended up getting a wooden cruiser board and it's great. As long as you keep your feet above the trucks, you'll be fine. Now with a lot more experience this is basically a very flexible penny board and I personally prefer the stiffer wooden board. Aside from the deck's flex, the build quality is excellent throughout.
