Review on πŸ”§ Mishimoto MMRT-PSAWBK Aluminum Power Steering Reservoir Tank in Black: Compatible and Efficient by Marco Cervantes

You only pay for the name.

I don't often feel compelled to write reviews but I have to in this case. I've never been a fan of Mishimoto products, but I decided to try a well-known brand because expensive has to mean good, right? Not true. These are FEATURES, but that's all. The nipple thread is a brake port size that nobody offers, so you can't change the hose size without trying more than you need to. The mounting bolts are actually screwed into the inside of the tank, leading to potential leaks. The paint wasn't the best and the welds were terrible. The only quality part of it was the cap, but it's almost flattened and can't be removed again once you're dealing with hydraulic oil. For the price I paid I expected a lot more than I got. I was also expecting there might be a dipstick on the lid, but no, you just need to look inside the jar with a flashlight to determine your liquid's level. Settings) and looks nice from a distance. And it's called "Mishimoto" that people dig for a reason. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this tank just because of the price. There are better nameless tanks out there for half the price and I honestly don't see how you can sell a poor quality can for over $80 when I can buy an ice can and some hose fittings for $1 (with real NPT fittings that allow someone to adjust to their tube size) and do something better.

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
