Unlike other leaf pens, a pair of Yellow Ruggs are quite fragile. Because of their thinness, the plastic "arms" don't pick up a bundle of leaves as effectively as a thicker, stronger pair. For example, imagine you are holding an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of paper in each hand. Imagine trying to pick up sheets off the floor with that notebook paper, then imagine trying to pick up those sheets with thicker 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock in each hand. What would be more efficient? Cardboard, of course, because it's stronger. The yellow Rugg looks like notebook paper. It's too thin. So I will spend a few dollars more to buy a stronger and thicker handset.
