Review on Cat Ears Classic Cycling Noise Reducer by Chris Wheeler

What hearing aid wearers should know

First, I wear hearing aids in both ears. I bought these noise cancellers to eliminate or at least reduce the loud and annoying crackling wind noise in my hearing aids when cycling. I went through a company video that helped me properly tighten and position the gears and noticed that if someone is wearing sunglasses, the end of the temple should be placed over the helmet strap. The results were mixed. Then I stumbled across what seemed like a good solution. Normally, when I wear glasses with hearing aids, the tip of the temple rests against my head and the hearing aid sits next to it, between the tip and the ear. Obviously the hearing aid is not attached to my head and the air passing through the squelch passes between my head and the top of my temple and the clicking is still audible. I have found that when using squelch, the hearing aid must be pressed against the head with the tip of the eartip between the hearing aid and the ear. This helps because the air that doesn't stop the gearing can't get between the head and accessories. For me, the end result is an almost complete elimination of the click. We hope this solution will help other hearing aid wearers trying this product. I also understand that technically my solution works, probably due to the location of the microphones in my vehicles. However, it is worth a try. I downgraded Easy to Install as the instructions on how to install the reducers are confusing and not detailed. The corporate video helps because I can see how to do it instead of just reading about it. I highly recommend the rewrite.
